Finals weekend, good luck and predictions

With the Finals weekend approaching i would personally like to take the time in wishing everyone all the best of luck in their categories in their search for a National title and those who are going just for the experience this time round ,but all remember to just enjoy the whole event and the weekend those who are staying over and yes who knows maybe just maybe we can all here at Ipswich can join in the celebrating a British Champion or even Champions with some of our riders in with a very good chance , once again i wish you all the very best of luck because we need a little sometimes .

Saturday see’s the U10’s for girls and boys with Gemma Hill ,Ben Clarke in the first semi-final in which Gemma Hill must have a great chance of picking up the crown of British Champion and Ben Clarke will be looking to make the Final itself in the boys contest.

The second semi most probably contains most of the top riders in this age category and will be hard to progress from this semi and will more likely see the eventual winner come from this semi which contains two of our own riders in Jack Chaplin and Sam Warner who are both in top form at this moment in time, both riders are capable of lifting the title .

In the woman’s event with have Lauren Jacobs who is riding in the form of her life and her confidence is sky high ,surely Lauren couldn’t have a better chance of lifting the title that has eluded her all too often and with the luck of a good draw will fancy her chance’s and finally lift that hoodoo of being the bridesmaid, the other young lady competing in the woman’s event is Laura Dale who just got back from Poland after representing the Great Britain Ladies Team that defeated their Polish counter parts , Laura will be looking to make the final ,but also on her day is capable of upsetting the top riders and is more than capable of finishing on the rostrum .

On Sunday it’s the U16’s and the Senior Open that take’s center stage at Hethersett and Harford Park Eaton , the U16’s on paper looks hard to call with so much talent being at both tracks, but perhaps the tougher of the two pre-qualifiers being at Hethersett where we see the brothers Ashley and Matthew Hill in this semi along with Fraser Harris .

Ashley Hill has being riding well all season having already riden in the Premier League on occasions for Ipswich and this will set him in good stead and will not panic and will be well aware what he needs to do to qualify for the semi later that day. Matthew Hill and Fraser Harris will find the going tough but will relish the fight for places and are both capable of making a semi – final appearance , this may be as far as they go to be honest ,but you never know as i say everybody needs that little bit of luck so never say never.

The other pre-qualifier is at Eaton’s Harford Park where we see five of our riders in with a shout of making the semi-final they are Terry Gilbert- Rolfe ,Charlie Rumbold ,Daniel Knights, Lewis Roberts and Richard Fellgett. On paper this does look like the easier of the two semi’s but sometimes because all the riders are of similar abilities this can also be a tricky round to get through with riders nicking points off one another .

Of the Ipswich riders i think Ashley has a great chance of winning the the title if he can over come his hoodoo in the shape of Aaron Morgan who must start as favourite to win , of the others Charlie , Lewis and Richard all have chances of making the rostrum and Daniel ,Terry ,Matt and Fraser can all give a good account of themselves in the final.

The Seniors has two quality fields just to qualifier for the semi’s , Ipswich will have five riders representing the club at this level with two of them making their debut at this level they being Jordan Stant and Jamie Chittock the others are Dan Pike , Joshua Brooke and Barry Copping , we did have a sixth rider in Richard Williamson but as had to pull out due to illness and we all wish Rich a speedy recovery .

To be honest i can only see at best a semi final berth for any of of seniors with our best chances laying with Jamie Chittock and Josh Brooke to make a final day appearance ,but as i said before we all need that ladt luck to smile on us. These are my thoughts and not of the club ,because we think you all Champions.
