Tour of Britain and Sky Ride

Ipswich and Kesgrave riders were invited to lead out the first stage of the 2012 Tour of Britain, from Ipswich’s waterfront.  First came British Women and European Women’s Champion Lauren Jacobs, Under 10 Girls Champion Gemma, Under 10 Boys Champion Lewis and 2011 Under 10 Boys Champion  Jack, plus Suffolk’s BMX and 2 Cyclocross national champions.  They were followed by the Ipswich U16 team, the Ipswich U13 team and the Kesgrave U10 team and squad, all national champions.  Stowmarket Cycle Club and Ipswich Bicycle Club followed up.

After the Tour left Ipswich, the Sky Ride event started.  The British Cycling area showcased cycle speedway and mountain biking for all the Suffolk clubs.
