Ipswich went into their division one fixture missing several first team members so there were call ups for several of the second string such as Fellgett, Rumbold, Roberts, Jacobs and Copping .
Heat one was a shared heat with stand in captain Josh Brooke winning in commanding form , the next six heats all went the way of the home team and quickly put the match beyond the reach of their opponents who had again Phil Adams as their stand-out rider scoring at impresses seventeen points. In fact such was the home team domminance that the visitors claimed the inside grids by heat seven, so Ipswich went into the break 53 – 36 .
With the message not to switch off for the second period the home team went about their task in a perfessional manner securing another four hets wins to see the match out , what was pleasing was to see the young guns score and team ride well with Richard Fellgett scoring sixteen points and supported well by Charlie Rumbold paid sixteen , Ashley Hill scoring his best return for an SE1 fixture securing himself seventeen points , but all in all a good all-round team performance . Hethersett to be fair also had a couple of first teamers missing ,saw Scott Grimes continue his progression in the sport with a return of fourteen points while Harley Hammil had a day to forget with two gate exclusions from his five rides leaving him to score only five points .
A big thank you to Leon Yelland who stepped into do the referee’s job this afternoon. On a personal note i am sad to hear of his retirement from the sport but fully undersrtand his decesion to retire ,he will be missed here at Ipswich because of his involement with helping the youngsters at the club and his experience he brought to the first team .

The south east two champions continued with another powerful display in this SE2 fixture only dropping four points all afternoon , with only the first heat being shared they then went on to record fifteen heats wins on the bounce with thirteen 7-3 ‘s , a solid performance from all eight riders and surely one hand on that trophy, though the young Eagles will not leave anything to chance and will slowly continue to turn the screw on their opponents . Thank you also to Phil Adams for doing a fine job in the middle although he had little to call .
