Ipswich second string went into this match looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season and in truth were to strong for their oppontnents today even with a fourteen point penatly in their favour .
Ipswich gave a debut to thirteen year old Pierce Bacon and he never let anyone down scoring 7+1 from three rides ,Ipswich also welcomed back Fraser Harris from injury and was able to ease himself back into the action .
The match started with two shared heats before the home side nudge themselves in front in heat three with a 6-4 ,four was shared them the home side started to to ease away with heats five and six recpording 7-3 in both this was followed by a 6-4 in the next so just over halfway Ipswich had built up a commanding lead 41 – 29 , heat eight saw Wednesfield’s only heat win after Will Clark was excluded for excessive force leaving team mate Pierce Bacon to take on Holdcroft and Everiss but his efforts were to be in vain as the visitors rackedup a 7-2 . Ipswich responded with a 7-3 and a 7-2 in the next two heats ,heats eleven and twelve were shared ,the final heat saw Fellgett and Jacobs round off a good afternoon’s work with a 7-3 to take the final score to Ipswich 88 Wednesfield 54 .
But the final word must go to match of the match Tery Gilbert – Rolfe who scored 10+1 from his three rides and is growing in confidence with every meeting a rider who at the begining of the season most probadly didn’t see himself being part of the set up but has prove to be a valuable member of the team .
