Ipswich went into this fixture looking to maintain their position at the top of the combination and looked rarely troubled throughout this encounter. After six heats Ipswich had secured a twenty point lead.

It wasn’t to heat seven that Sheffield secured their first meaningful points with a shared heat. Sheffield looked better in the second half of this encounter though the home side were able to pick off their heats and run out comfortable winners by 81 points to 49 .

Young Pierce Bacon can be pleased with his seven points from two rides and looks one for the future while it was good to see Fraser Harris getting back to his early season form after his lengthy lay off due to injury. Captain Richard Fellgett lead from the front and was well supported by Charlie Rumbold.
