Ipswich travelled down the A12 to take on East London knowing that a win would secure the South East title for a second year running .

Ipswich had to call upon their young riders from the second string with injuries and unavailability to seniors riders, and with the match being classed as a double header and four points up for grabs the visitors didn’t know what to expect form their hosts today. Unfortunately the home team were only able to muster six riders. The Ipswich team were ruthless in their pursue for glory and reeled off heat after heat and by half time the match was well and truly over as a contest ,in fact it wasn’t to heat fourteen that the Londoner’s recorded a shared heat ,but credit the East London team at no stage did they drop their heads in a one sided match .

For Ipswich young Charlie Rumbold looked the pick of the away team and will only be a matter of time before he will figure in the first team on a regular basis. Also not to be outshone were Will Clark and Richard Fellgett who both scored well from their reserve berths. Josh Brooke gave a captain’s performance and was supported by Jamie Chittock. In fact all the Ipswich squad can be happy with another faultless performance.

With matches against Hethersett and Gt.Blakenham left to come team manager Tony Stant will be looking to experiment with his line up ready for next years assault on keeping the championship at Ipswich for a third year.
