Following on from the very successful May Bank Holiday weekend at which Ashley Hill took 2nd place and Charlie Rumbold took 4th place in the U19 Welsh Open and Leesa-Marie Bown picked up 2nd in the Womens B-Final (Not to mention the cracking performances of our U10’s and U13’s in their respective British Events) the forthcoming Whitsun Bank Holiday is also going to be a busy one for Ipswich Riders down on the South Coast.
On Saturday 25th there is a GB Training Camp at Poole for those riders looking to compete in the World Championships in Australia later this year at which both Lauren Jacobs and Ashley Hill hope to be racing.
On Sunday 26th Poole have their annual invitational the “Ade Gale Laurels” which this year is split into four categories – Girls/Juniors, Youth and Seniors.
Ashley Hill, Josh Brooke, Adam Peck and Lauren Jacobs are all riding in this event.
On Monday 27th the following Eagles riders have accepted invites to help celebrate Southampton CSC’s 50th Anniversary celebrations in an U19 and Seniors spectacular.
U19’s – Will Clarke, Richard Fellgett and Dan Knights and in the Seniors – Jamie Chittock and Leon Mower. (U19’s starts at 1pm and the Seniors will follow on at 3pm.)
However, before that this coming Saturday 11th May there is the Wil Burns Memorial meetings taking place at Leicester with the Men’s pairs beginning at 2pm and the Women’s individual following on at 4pm.
Lauren Jacobs will be riding in the womens event in the Ipswich Colours, whilst Eagles new acquisition, Adam Peck, will be riding in the colours of Leicester 2012 (Adam previously rode for Leicester in the Premier/Elite League when Wil Burns was Team Manager) with another Local Rider Phil Howells.
We wish all our riders all of the best in their respective events and its nice to see so many different riders representing the club at different events this year, proving that Ipswich Eagles are indeed doing something right and its thanks to the hardwork and commitment of Riders/Coaches/Parents/Managers alike. (Please take pics and send them through to Phil for inclusion on the website)
Come On You Eagles!!!
