Eagle becomes Lions Manager

Yesterday after having deliberated for a couple of weeks the Cycle Speedway Commission announced the new England Managers for both the Seniors (Mark Boaler) and Juniors.

It is therefore with great pride that we can announce that Ipswich Eagles very own Les Fellgett has been offered the post of England Junior Manager.

Les has been with the club since it re-formed in 2001/2 and has been instrumental in the club’s recent success having helped the club to success at British Club U13 level as well as back to back British Club U16 titles, SE 2 and SE Youth titles in recent years too. Currently, Les is one of the clubs three qualified Level 2 coaches, has just become a C grade regional Referee and is currently Manager of the Ipswich Eagles SE1 and SE Combination teams, British U19 and Joint British U16 Manager.

Les’ first task as England junior Manger is to pick a Squad for the June Home Internationals in Newport and then the upcoming European Championships being held in Poland in early August this year.

I’m sure you’ll all join me in wishing Les the best of luck as he takes on the role of managing some of Cycle Speedway’s Top Youth Talent, and given Les’ pedigree I would expect to see England be a force to be reckoned with.

Come on you Lions
